If you are stressed out and having trouble relaxing – listen to this song two times and call me in the morning. I wrote and recorded Sleep Child and played all the guitars and bass. My friend Barry sang backup vocals and for the life of me I can’t remember the drummer’s name.

Lyrics
I used to stay up, all night,
Thinking that I could get everything right.
If only I could correct my mistakes
Ahh, but that’s not what it takes.
Problems would haunt me
and I’d let them in.
Words would upset me
“I should have told them!”
Sooner or later, I’d prove I’m a man…
Bridge
Oh, I did not understand
Then Jesus spoke to me
He said I am in control
Of the things you cannot see
Chorus
And He said
You can sleep child
I’ll be up all night working on this
You can rest now
It’ll be all right
Don’t you worry – I’ve got a plan
I’ve got you right here in the palm of my hand.
Verse 2
So I started thinking
This had to be true
Worry solves nothing
For me and for you
And, since you’ll be up Lord
I’ll just get some rest
And He said “There you go
You just passed the test
Chorus
And He said
You can sleep child
I’ll be up all night working on this
You can rest now
It’ll be all right
Don’t you worry – I’ve got a plan
I’ve got you right here in the palm of my hand.
From One Line in a Radio Interview
I was stressed out and wondering what to do about a situation I had nearly no way to influence when I heard Larry Burkett say on the radio how that exactly described him as a stressed out businessman.
Then he read a Bible verse that said God did not sleep and that while we slept, was on the job looking out for us and working things out. When I heard that – I wrote the song Sleep Child which I am including here for you.

Twitter was not even a gleam in a geek’s eye when this song was recorded, but if you like it, shout it out!
