Okay, I already know I'm going to take tons of crap about this - but, as you know I write commentary on the parade as it passes in front of me - and in the last 72 hours some pretty interesting stuff has gone by my spot in the crowd.
1. So, I'm on somebody's Ustream.TV show and Ross Goldberg is in the chat when I asked if anyone knew what would be a good solution for selling a digital product, paying affiliates fast through paypal, that didn't require 100% commissions like $7 Secretions, and would integrate with Aweber - so I wouldn't have to use 1Shopping Cart's dreadful email autoresponders or put people through the pain of an Amember sign up.
Ross recommended the RAP system - a script that did it all plus more!
I don't know what to think of this guy because even though he's such a bizarre crazy character - and he took a HUGE beat down from my "worst advice ever" post before I eve knew him and he came back strong and powerful - took it like a man. (And took it like a marketer, too!)
2. Ross invited me to look at an ebook he was working on where he showed how he gets gobs of great high converting traffic to his niche (non-internet marketing) web sites - and said "take your best shot."
So I was forced to read it, partly by guilt and partly by curiosoty. I haven't read anyone on traffic but my usual 3 suspects in a long time - so I figured WTF, live dangerously and load it up and read it.
It is good. Really good. If you want to kick your traffic up about 10 notches - you should check it out.
On a personal note - I've been through a bizarre dark night of the soul and have decided to reopen my Mastermind Coaching club - so lemme tidy up the place and I'll let you know how you, as a reader of my blog and list member, can get in on this cool opportunity - limited to just 20 peeps.

For the last year I've been working on figuring out a way to overcome the obstacles of selling either a membership site - or protecting digital products I sell online.
This has included exhaustive trial and error with Aweber Amember 1ShoppingCart and Paypal, each one with their limitations, resulting in having to either forego some features I wanted - or jumping through customer-irritating (and Rick-Irritating) hoops.
I even Twittered the darn query yesterday and got the same feedback. But, seek and ye shall find and the answer came to me from a source I wasn't expecting - Ross Goldberg!
Ross was on a Ustream.TV video cast I was watching and we started to chat. He recommended a script that would do everything I wanted and a whole lot more.
I immediately bought it and darn if Ross wasn't right!

Now that I think about it, teaching kids to build websites is not as far fetched as it first seemed.
Kids are so comfortable with web applications, and putting up a self hosted website using Wordpress or a Wordpress.com hosting site is so easy, a kid can not only do it - but do it really well.
So when Mark Ress started teaching his kids they jumped right on it.
The big difference was that the kids were not trying to build complex authority sites, or write high converting sales letters, but a simple website with the right features and tweaks that could be easily SOLD for a tidy profit!
I listened to Mark talk about this recently - he even put his 9 year old daughter on the phone to talk about how she chose a market. She had built and sold websites on the popular program "High School Musical."
Once he began to share about how his kids had a contest with each other, resulting in the winner selling 7 websites over a weekend for a profit of more than $2500, I knew this was not just child's play.
Different from site flipping, creating sites in the right target market means you only spend less than $10 for a domain name - install a blog and configure it with some content, images, and monetization - and sell it without having to go through the cost and time of finding the buyer and making the deal.
If your site doesn't sell right away - it goes into your inventory of VRE or Virtual Real Estate and grows in age and value. While you are waiting to sell your property you add a little content, do a little marketing, and you'll have page rank, links and traffic, making it more valuable and monetizing it with any of a number of forms of making money passively.
Mark has taught his methods, which includes a step by step system for choosing markets, creating a site that sells, and his secret stash websites where you can quickly sell your creations quickly to a hungry market.
I'm going to be attending this class, as is my daughter Rachael, for a very selfish reason…
This sounds like a fun way to make money to me!
I wanted you to know about this class because it looks like an awesome business model for anyone who knows the HOW of putting up sites - and can follow directions on how to sell them.
If you have had limited success in making money on 1 site - or 1 method, you should consider taking this terrific training so you can start making and selling sites right away.
Whether you want your kids to start making money (less out of Mom or Dad's pocket) or if you can use a couple thousand or more dollars per month - then you should really check on this great resource.

There’s a fabulous story in the 4 Hour Work Week - where a Harvard MBA is vacationing in Mexico and sees a guy bringing in a few fish in his boat - working just a couple hours in the morning.
The man reports that this is enough to feed his family, sell the rest for what he needs, fool around with his wife in the afternoon, and go play guitar and have a couple beers with his friends in the evening. He is satisfied.
The MBA lays out a plan where the guy would work harder, grow to a fleet of fishing vessels, make so much money he’d move to New York, go public, and finally after 20 years sell out for millions.
“What would I do then? Asked the Mexican fisherman.
“Well,” says the MBA, “you could retire to a little fishing village in Mexica, fish a little, fool around with your wife and in the evening go into town and play guitar with your friends…”
I’m hardly the picture of altruism or character - but I’m not in this to make a million dollars.

JP Micek and "Coach Deb" run Tribal Seduction.com - The Naked Truth About Marketing in a New Media World. They have coined such fabulous catch phrases as "marketplace molesters" and are really thought leaders in marketing changes and attitudes in the fast changing world of web video, Twitter, Facebook, social marketing, and I read every post they put out.
Apparently JP was alerted to the events here related to The Worst Internet Marketing Advice I've Ever Heard post and blast of comments - and responded with a video. He tried to put the video in the comments but Wordpress (a brilliant idea!) but WordPress wouldn't hear of it.
Maybe someone needs to come up with a plugin that lets commenters make more advanced WYSIWYG comments or imbed videos? Maybe it's out there - if so let me know?
But since he made such a valiant effort in this video to actually climb a hill above his Hawaiian beach home - and brave the winds - I have posted his video here.
Sometimes we need a bit of a jolt to get us out of what I call the "momentum of mediocrity" and the mind-numbing sameness of following the "leader" and this video does it in spades!
With the wind whipping at his back JP Micek stands like some sort of gladiator making his stand against the forces of whining and wimpy baby steps marketing - shouts down the lies - and delivers in power!

Ross Goldberg has gotten under my saddle like a spiny burr - and pissed off my horse a couple times, too. But, when I started to take a look at his actual stuff (this video content aside) I found out the little tyke knew a LOT about getting traffic.
Namely 79 Ways to get more traffic and put it in a Dandy Ebook you should check out now…
I don't know Ross Goldberg at all. But, he posted what has to be the worst Internet marketing advice I've ever heard in my life in reference to my Stompernet post.
This video should explain both my position on why this is the worst advice ever - and probably cement my reputation and drop it in the river forever for not playing nice.
Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, but doggone it - some common sense needs to get some oxygen.
