How to Deal With Failure
How to deal with failure by failing!
Many people spend so much time avoiding failure that they prevent themselves from experience coming back - and that failure is only final when you give up. Failing forward is the path of successful people because NO ONE gets to any big success in life or business without experiencing some level of failure.
As I hear John Reese say today - when we fail - we examine the data and find out what didn't work - so that we can exhume that data and learn to make incremental improvements.

"Fear of Failure" - a reason for not doing something.
"Fear of Actually Succeeding" - another (probably stronger) reason for not doing something.
We are creatures of habit, and since "success" may well take us out of our comfort zone, we can't let it happen.
Overcoming your "fear of success" may be a lot more difficult than dealing with the failures in your life.

I like the positive energy of this and also have to mention that I couldn't agree more the "fear of success" that Stephen mentioned in his comment. That's one of the things that holds me back sometimes as well. If I do well, then I'll have to keep it up and I'll have so much more to lose. Scary! Like those first faltering feet when learning to ride a bike when mom and dad let go. Sometimes we can get so freaked out that we're doing it (in a good way) that we fall down.
