Jack Humphrey and Building a True Authority Site
Jack Humphrey posted today a very powerful and revealing list of links to his profiles on sites like Digg, Propeller, Pownce, Tumblr, Squidoo, Linkdin, HubPages, YouTube, Twitter and more to demonstrate what Darren Rouse calls profile consistency.
What I like about Jack is that he really is doing it - and building a fresh active list of people who are not burned out and jaded. When you are on a chat with Jack's tribe - or read their forum posts - they are not bitching about refunds and ripoffs.
I also listened in tonight on a seminar I heard about from my friend Kirt Christensen by a very smart and genuine Christian couple, Steve and Kerry Beck, who started out trying to find a way to help home school moms and to support themselves while the husband is putting
himself through seminary.
They were ultimately launching a program to help people create profitable info products and to secure a recurring revenue out of their niche. But, the tone was so different - so heartfelt and motivated by ethics and values, that I felt like I was out to dinner with friends.
They are even giving away a free copy of their excellent training program - click here to learn how you can win.
On a day when another heavyweight launch generated $1,000,000 in 62 minutes - (the launcher emailed that to hundreds of people and asked that they "keep it under their hat!") - all the tactics, scarcity, and high profile pimping manipulation made Jack's post and the 8 Weeks To Profits training just stand out in stark polarization.
There simply must be a way to operate in the internet marketing world without resorting to such severe predictable tactics. Jack mentions how his way of operating keeps his list fresh - while the launch dogs exchange identical lists of burnouts and hardcore marketers.

Rick,
Great post! And I am not saying that just because I'm in it either. Someday being genuine will be worth a lot of money. It's an investment, but the dividends do pay.

Thanks Jack -
More and more I'm unable to contain my annoyment at the launch / JV / hammer-the-list / model.
Interesting you said that the "born on date" of many of these guy's lists is fading. What I'm finding is that many of these high profile Internet marketers are way behind on their certification as to what is really happening now in our industry.
We are in the Network Marketing Wellness industry and have found that success depends on being up front and honest about the nutritional products we sell. People purchase our products and services because they enhance their lifestyle today not with some crazy vision of money falling out of the sky in heads. To behave otherwise is just plain silly.
