Hey Rick,
What is your honest opinion about black hat SEO products such as Tag Automator? Can a person using this product get his or her website(s) banned by Google?
Look out Rush Limbaugh. Move over Don Imus. Kick Butt Radio…kicks butt!

Hi Denny,
First off, I'm not the black hat expert, heck, I'm not a white hat EXPERT, just a well informed practitioner.
And from this standpoint I do have a perspective on the proper use of automation in our work.
IF you are using an automating tool in an industrial strength way - you are not breaking the law in the real world, but by the sheer velocity of production it is difficult to create massive high quality content so it is likely you'll barf out a lot of very low or very poor quality pages.
If you are using Tag Automator to get links from social networking sites for lots of barfie pages and sites - and other social bookmarking pages - this is spreading the bad thing around.
This seems to work pretty well for a short time - and then kind of disappear from view, sorted out, reported out, whatever.
Very sophisticated black hat - high production people seem to get more mileage from these things - but nobody gets them to last. Bad stuff just doesn't hang around very long in Google anymore.
There are exceptions, but few.
The key to successful long term business strategy is to use automation tools wisely and SLOW DOWN.
Building higher quality sites and using your automation tools to simplify the natural notification of social networking sites.
And to honor the way those sites work by posting other useful stuff there - not just 900 of your own pages.
